If you go with Automotive wires, you can squirt WD40 into the boots and push the resistor out , however the plug wires cannot be reused then as they would be 3" too short, so push the auto wires into the boot and silicone them so the wire is on the spark plug and the boot is glued to the wires and ... I understand the camshaft pickup in the stator is the culprit for code PO342, and can be replaced. PO342 started occasionally with just a low/rough idle when cold. The code would come and go.
