I made the skis from .25" HDPE with 3/8" baltic birch to make it ridged yet still flexible, 1" aluminum riser frame welded, riser to ski is 2" HDPE drilled at an angle for the tube. The deck is 3/8" Mahogany with 3/8" oak cross support. The deck is attached to the tube using clamps we use in the lighting business.

Have a few questions about the Smitty sled. There's 2 2X4 braces running sideways across the skis. Beneath the notched out portion appears to be washer and nut??
