Mk18 upper with BCG and ch can be had for $900 M4a1 upper for the same. Ddm4v7 complete for $700-800 if you find a deal. All these prices are based off buying them used. I have all 3 and have less than $2400 in all the complete uppers total. Then they can either share one sbr lower or just build 3 lowers.

The M4A1 is a GP kind of rifle where the Mk18 is for suppression, especially in the home or close range. With typical 55gr fmj ammo, fragmentation range is pretty close for the MK18, about 50 yards. Maybe 100 yards with the M4A1. With OTM ammo either is going to perform much better.I’m entertaining a stripped MK18 upper or an M4A1 upper, it will host an OCL Polonium permanently, and I will be filing a Form 1 to SBR either way so frankly that doesn’t mean anything to me. The RIS II is a classic rail IMO, will never go awayI decided to take cloning several steps further recently and one of my projects is the British incarnation of the Mk18, the L119A1.
