The 600r is a great sled, but if you want the economy benefits, you need to ride it slower and work it less. Someone posted the video of the summit racing a polaris where the Doo won. A reply suggested that particular video is more representative of true performance. funny stuff.

So if you wife doesn't ride around at 8,000 RPM she might not notice the difference. They might even make the exact same horsepower in the 5,000-7,000 RPM range. Just a guess.
