Feb 28, 2021 · Gshade had an unlocked Z buffer, which the add-on version of reshade also uses, and this is mandatory to allow shaders to work in FFXIV without bugs. Unfortunately is dead, however the add-on version of reshade is almost identical however lacks some of the FFXIV specific shaders such as those for the UI.

Any preset made for versions below 3.0 are incompatible with any version above it. Thats your issue. Most of those are for old versions of the program. The presets alone won't work, they'll try to call shaders that don't exist. Espresso Darklite (-background blur) is the absolute best shader for gameplay. It genuinely makes me forget FFXIV is turning 10 this August.The Reshade addon API is super powerful and allows modders, game devs and unfortunately cheaters alike to do SOO many things to the way a game renders. The Reshade shaders and regular (whitelisted) Reshade cannot do cheats, but the addons definitely can. Once you allow 3rd party code through addons all bets are off.That's why you have one 17,6MB ffxiv.exe and one 24,8MB ffxiv_dx11.exe in your game folder. yeah, the uninstaller is pretty special, and even if you specifically tell it to delete everything, it wont. the easiest way of getting rid of it is checking the installation folder where you have ffxiv, and inside the game folder basically just delete everything with gshade in its name. 20.
