There were only minor differences between the 3 rd and 4th generations, but there are significant differences between the 5 th generation and what came before. Overall the Gen 5 triggers out of the box feel like a definite improvement. My personal 17.5 after 700 rounds and at least 500 dry fire cycles has gotten even better. I carried both gen 4/5 on duty, the gen 4 quickly showed holster wear from issued safariland holster. The gen 5 also showed wear but took much longer.
