I used to have a river jet boat - Alumaweld 1750 PFC - stick steer from the bow. I never took it to Indian River Inlet but did work the bays of Ocean City and the inlet there. They were not a problem for the most part. The biggest problem was the wakes from larger craft especially commercial fishing craft. Keep an eye on them and you should be ok.
