Our people. Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow (President of the Board of Directors) Magnus has lived in Argyll, Scotland, since the age of nine and began his career as a fish farmer. However, when the Bosnian conflict was making headlines in the early 1990s, Magnus and his brother Fergus were moved to help. He was named one of 2010's ‘Top 10 Heroes ... The work of Mary's Meals grew out of Medjugorje in Bosnia-Herzegovina, where it's claimed the Virgin Mary has been appearing since 1981. In 1992, the MacFarlane-Barrow family launched an appeal to help the people of war-torn Bosnia-Herzegovina. They did this from their home in Argyll, Scotland: Craig Lodge Family House of Prayer.We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
