They are both great but yeah, it depends on what you want to do with it. M4A1 has a shorter barrel with a pinned muzzle device and picatinny rails. It can be a heavy gun with all the goodies. But it runs great. V7 has longer barrel, easily removal muzzle device for say a brake or QD suppressor device, and lighter MLOK rails.
