The original Svengoolie was Jerry Bishop but his show only ran from 1970-1973. The current Svengoolie debuted in 1979 as "Son of Svengoolie" with permission of the original and ran through 1986. When he returned in 1994, he was given permission to just be "Svengoolie". The actors weren't actually father and son though.
