Jun 2, 2023 · Predictive text can be a helpful tool for typing quickly. In this tutorial, we'll make a predictive text engine that learns by example. Newer text prediction engines, like GPT3, use neural networks, but we'll use more standard coding for this project. Overview and Requirements We'll use the Replit web IDE for developing and running our text engine. Teaching students to predict requires two skills. The first is using context clues from the text or snippet or text (a headline?) that is given. The second is using personal experience or knowledge (also known as schema).
