Braccus Rex is the hardest boss fight in the game if you face it at the same level than he is. The reason as you figured out is his powerful Meteor Swarm, a spell that normally require level 15 to cast. It is not impossible and there is multiple way to counter it, mainly because the spell has an long cooldown : Send one person alone.
