The infested Heavy Units such as the ancients, boilers, and the mutalist moas are all weak to corrosive and blast damage. Some infested are also weak to gas (Chargers for example), and most are weak to slash procs. So in theory, the optimal weapon build would combine corrosive and heat damage as well as slash damage to cover all the bases.

So here's a couple of screens showing what it drops and its weaknesses. Even melted its 'armor' and it still drops slowly: There are weakspots on its back when it opens its shell to use its spines or the protruding tentacles from it. Also its underbelly takes more damage when it rears up to stomp.Harrow is helpful in this too, haven't tried Banshee or Nova yet but those 2 should be able to increase the damage against them.
