The notion of illocutionary force was developed by (Searle 1969) to grade how persuasive a speech act can be. The illocutionary force can vary from implicit (i.e., the intention is hidden) to more explicit (i.e., the intention is clear) depending on word order, emphasis, intonation, mood, punctuation, and performative verbs.
