Sep 3, 2019 · When I asked where in the awning manual it said to lubricate the awning I was told in a very snotty and superior way “it’s called maintenance”. So my opinion of Girard’s product and their tech support couldn’t be much lower, especially considering it’s a product that borders on the unusable. It turned out my awning issue was a know issue caused by a wire in the awning wiring harness that was to thin to carry the proper voltage.I own a 2021 Dutch Star with the optional Girard Nova awnings and awning package option. I believe the main passenger side are Nova II awnings. Starting yesterday, both front and rear Novas leave their fronts sticking out an inch, maybe 2, upon retraction. Theer doesn't appear to be a noise, or at least new niose, when they stop closing.

If you can locate the eyelet the manual crank rod attaches to, that is where the motor is located.
