Because kimberlites are the source of most of the world's diamonds, they have generated much interest. To date, however, no diamonds have been found in association with these kimberlites. Even without diamonds, kimberlites are interesting because they provide a glimpse of the rocks that come from deep underground, perhaps as deep as 150 miles.
