P365 takedown lever stuck.

Feb 4, 2023 · The Recoil Spring Assembly, RSA, came out of alignment somehow and was preventing the rotation of the takedown lever. I manipulated the RSA that was exposed while the slide was locked rearward. I was eventually able to rotate the takedown lever once the RSA was repositioned correctly. Hold the Takedown Lefer fully Forward towards the Muzzle and slide the slide all the way to the Rear and locked with the Slide Lock. With the Slide Locked to the rear rotate the Takedown lever up horizontally. Now Release the Slide forward and the gun is assembled. Found out what it was, definitely not the firing pin safety. Sig site says take down safety lever. Loose as hell. When the takedown lever is down, the metal bar is tight, no noise. When the takedown lever is where it would be during normal operation, the takedown lever is loose and rattles like hell. Verified with the fcu out.Upon putting the slide back on the take down lever will not go back to the horizontal position. And the slide would not come off. I removed the back plate and took out the striker assembly, and striker safety and spring. The slide then could come off freely. The take down pin seems stuck in the trigger mecinism.

Turn the slide upside down and remove the recoil spring and guide rod. Remove the barrel from the slide. Carefully lift the barrel out of the slide. That’s it for the disassembly of the Smith & Wesson Shield 9mm. This is as far as you need to go to give the gun a good cleaning, or to replace the recoil spring.

There's two ways to go about it.. try to mil the MS cut your self which will be a notch on both sides of the grip module. OR you could buy a MS cut P365 module and maybe sand down the hump under the slide release, otherwise it might be difficult to operate with SAS controls. Last night, third takedown of my P365. Dropped magazine, cleared the chamber, checked three times. I pulled back the slide and locked it back. I rotated the takedown lever, then pulled back the slide, or at least attempted to pull back the slide a little bit more to disengage the slide lock.
