As I am shooting on the range, it's having problems returning to battery completely, requiring a thumb-press about every other round. So, I chocked it up to being brand new and needing time to break in. FWIW, my SR1911 5" needed no such nonsense.

If it was mine I know the situation would always be in the back of my mind and bug me. I might try Ruger CS one more time, call them and hope to get someone else.

Dear Ruger lovers, Unlike you all lucky guys on this forum. The SR1911 I bought in 2014 has got some CNC cutting issues on the frame which was causing some problems. I have discovered the issue after 10 months using it in competitions. I have contacted Ruger's customer service. Amazingly, Ruger offered me to replace it with a brand new one.Best parts of the SR1911 (and the main reasons I went with them), is the series 70 design, the made in America appeal, and the Ruger customer service behind them. Five times failed to load round into chamber. Had to lock the slide back to clear it.
