I just use the sentinel cannon. Take out the ships weapons and then focus it down. If you're wanting to find crashed sentinel ships the best way (imo) is to find a dissonant system, find the planet with 'dissonance detected', then go kill those tall skinny corrupted enemies until they drop an echo locator.

You can salvage these for sentinel parts, you can also get sentinel parts by destroying sentinels.
