My main question is: are the rubies you get from excavations exhaustible? Should I reset the excavation to farm more of them, or they are "gone" for good after you get them the first time? I need 40 artifacts to unlock a research and I need another artifact, unfortunately the artifacts require you NOT to reincarnate or even abidcate, well except the Drow Flame Artifact for unlocking slots HOWEVER I very much I want to try and get that one.
You cannot reset excavations that early. I'm R16 and yet to get high enough excavs to reset. In the early game, managing excavations is fairly important; you should use them mostly to get faction coins until you progress a bit further and faction coins become a bit easier to get hold of. I know I definitely need E290 but I don't know the highest producing builds for both Dwarf and Drow. I keep spending all my money and it will say eligable artifacts: 6, I will spend money and it will go down to 5, but nothing was added. or the rare chance I do get one, what does it do? Elven luck faction coin gain is just a small time saver, Elf's production will still be the same. Which part, R0 is long. I like goblins run 1, then elves to 250kish then demons. Is there any real penalty or drawback to resetting a excavation early? The only thing it says is that you suffer a 90% penalty to production until you Abdicate, and the cost to reset again will increase. But if you just abdicate after resetting, couldn't you just keep abusing the reset option this way? Or is there a more long-term penalty too?Excavation reset. Research unlocks at R16, while the Rough Stone is needed for one very specific research at... some point, can't remember when ... 4- Kinda optional, but I also suggest you go after the Excavation Artefacts, after R3 you'll need some like Know Your Enemy in order to progress. 5- Only after all that, reincarnate.
