Ruger lcr 357 problems.
I recently received a Ruger LCR .357 Magnum and took 6 different factory loads to the range today. Two of the 6 loads were Armscor. .38 SPCL. .357 MAG. I fired 2 x 5 round groups from each type. I had no problems with 5 of the 6 types. However, with the Armscor .357 after firing the 3d of the first 5 rounds my cylinder would not revolve.

It was listed for $499.99 as an "Unfired Factory Seconds" firearm. I called Ruger and provided the serial number and they confirmed that it is indeed a "blemished" piece that was sold to the retailer at a discounted price. The normal Ruger warranty applies and the blemishes are considered cosmetic only.

I will probably sell the 2” and 4” SP101. The LCRx 357 is only 6 ounces lighter than the 3” SP101. For me, the weight difference wasn’t noticeable when carrying, but was noticeable when shooting 357 rounds. You can try polishing the chambers with a metal polish like Flitz, or simply keep a small plastic faced hammer in your range bag, and rap the ejection rod.The polymer frame soaks up some of the potentially aggressive recoil in this ultra-light pocket cannon. We wish that a little more attention was paid to polish and finish of some of the polymer frame areas – especially inside the trigger guard. Our 158 grain .357 Magnum handloads were quite, umm, interesting in this gun. To be expected of course.
At 17.1 ounces, the .357 Mag LCR would be 3.6 ounces heavier than the 13.5 ounce .38 Special LCR, but that wouldn’t bother me a bit. I’ve never had a problem with my (roughly) 22 ounce, .38 Special S&W 640, so the .357 LCR’s extra weight (in comparison to the .38 Special LCR) wouldn’t phase me a bit. For a home defensive weapon, the (+P+) round is flat out nasty. The striking velocity is equal to the 9mm and .357 mag.
