Yeah my super crappy laptop that won't play any modern games runs at 200 fps when starting. Once I've got 30 dwarves or so it's gone down to about 50... 50 dwarves about 40.... 60 dwarves about 30. So it's not a problem of embark speed, it's keeping that speed with more dwarves that's a problem. Logged.
