I found that the resistance through the switch when I closed the latch was varying between 3-10 ohms and the door ajar light would only go off when it went below 3 ohms. So something in the switch is creating poor contact. I liberally sprayed an electronic part cleaner on the switch and the problem is resolved at least for the last few weeks.

After looking at your picture, if you don't already have the switch disconnected from the wiring pigtail. Clean it with a parts brush, compressed air and some electrical contact cleaner. One of those switches is sticking which is the concern, if you want to bypass the lighting system, you will have to remove mulitple pins from the gem module and certain add on features may become inop. I would recommend rechecking those switches, particulary the d/side front door.
