The use of the stego allows the player to control when the Desmodus is able to pick you up. So you can apparenlty provide it some tamed Moschops with blood packs, placed on follow. The desmodus is supposed to pick up the moschops to increase their tamign lvl, then you let them pick you up by dismounting the stego.Best way to tame this boi. First. Get a raft and take it to a swamp or wherever he spawns. Second. Get 40+ tranq or Toxicant arrows get the raft and have someone else drive it (if solo shoot then drive).
