The way I look at it, you can decide to purchase a 1tb MicroSD and have money left for games, or even get an internal SSD with the 250$ you save by going that route over the 512. Either way, you'll end up with more storage for your money than with any of the other two tiers of console. Doom (2016) is probably one of the best games to show off. It's native Vulkan and it's programmed very efficiently. Control is pretty good too. On the Heroic library page, there's an option on each game to "Add to Steam". ..and I believe it's the same thing for Steam Deck. So you can e.g. be in offline mode but still be able to play network games that don't use the Steam network to do it. And perversely you need to have internet connectivity to enter that offline mode. In cellulars the airplane mode is basically an easy button to disable Wifi/Cellular/Bt in one go.

For non turn based RPG’s Dragon Age origins is a classic and runs great on the deck. You also have Bethesda RPG’s like Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 & New Vegas. If u want to edit that controller profile go to -controller settings - wii remote 1 - emulated wii remote- configure.GOG Galaxy through Steam - Easier & Faster with cloud sync enabled but some games are not compatible and will not detect the Steam Deck's controller.
