When I got the bike the governor was set at 3620 rpm. I know these engines in stock form will take 5000 rpm and still be fine. I wanted to increase the governor speed to about 4500 rpm. I first adjusted the throttle stop screw and that got me 3800 rpm. I watched several videos and the only thing they really showed was how to bypass the governor.

On the top of the motor is the governor arm. If you move the position of the spring to the outside hole you can pick up a couple hundred rpm. I haven't had any trouble with it but with anything you can't hold it pinned all the time. This is done on a predator 212 Coleman ct200u, and a Manco Thunderbird with a 196 from the Coleman.

For these small blocks, a stock cam will go 6000 +rpm, a solid torquey go kart or mini bike cam revs to 7500 rpm. A midrange cam revs 8500 rpm, and the high revving cams may get 9000+ RPM.
