Hi, we have 60" X 42" center Island. The base cabinets are 24" deep. Instead of having a 18" overhang on one side only, we are thinking of having 12" overhang on one side and 6" overhang on the drawer/cabinet side of the island. It will hinder the drawers a little bit, but I think I would rather like the ease of sliding a stool/chair on that side.
