Staff of Wisdom - The best pure sorcery staff in the game if you have at least 50 Int. And I do mean "pure." It can't cast hexes at all. Its only downside for a pure sorcerer is that it's also the longest staff, meaning that at close range your spells have a nasty tendency to go right over your enemy's head.

But DS1 poison lasts as long as DS3 (if not longer) and also deals as much damage as in DS2 (which makes it OP). So actually, all things considered, the poison in DS2 is quite balanced. All of the above also applies for toxic, which is a death sentence in DS1.
