Apparently the mechanic that worked on my scooter hooked up the carburetor wrong, and put the fuel line in backwards. Check to make sure you are hooking up your carburetor right. I had a mechanic replace the carb. It ran great for 20 miles or so. It then died and fuel started leaking out through the air filter area. He said it's the fuel valve.I have a 2008 Shanghai-Shenke 50cc scooter that I can't get to run. I've replaced the carburetor (CVK type), ignition coil and spark plug, still no go. The spark appears weak but there is spark. Fuel flow to the carb is good, yet the spark plug appears dry. I've blocked the plug hole with my finger, tried to start and my finger tip is dry.Place your scooter on the main stand and make sure it's secure. Ideally have someone to help you holding it in place. Rev the engine up slowly and check if at some point the engine stops revving for no reason. This is probably somewhere around 7-800rpm. If it revs higher than 8000rpm you're don't have a restricted CDI in place.Install the cam chain tensioner onto the cylinder with a new gasket. Insert the spring and install the bolt and gasket, or simply replace the screw on some models. Use feeler gauges to check the valve lash.
