I cause bleed on most in two swings but I do less damage by the swing so I can't give you an accurate answers, but I think you should stay heavy if you have no arcane. Even at 20 arcane, bleed is better than no bleed. You could also add the blood affinity using the whetstone knife if you have the black whetblade.
