Statics and dynamics course.

Statics is boring and easy af, dynamics is super fun and math heavy. It'll depend what you want. Honestly though, if you're going to take one concurrently with Calculus II, I'd say statics since dynamics (usually) involves diff. eq. Statics goes well with Calc 3, not so much Calc 2.

This is a statics problem. About the distinction between statics problems and dynamics problems: Here is an example of an extremely simple case of a statics problem: you have a bowl, you release a marble at an arbitrary point. The marble rolls down, overshoots, rolls back, etc, etc. After a little while friction has removed all motion. It's a page about solving a particular (and common) kind of problem in mechanics. Informally, statics is the study of forces without motion. More formally, statics is the branch of mechanics that deals with forces in the absence of changes in motion. In contrast, dynamics is the study of forces and motion; or more formally, the branch of ...A shortened combined course in (1) statics, including a study of force systems, free-body diagrams, and problems in equilibrium, friction, centroids, and moments of inertia; and (2) dynamics, including a study of the kinematics and kinetics of particles and rigid bodies using the method of force-mass acceleration. Note Three hours rec. a week.My school required ECE students specializing in EE to take Statics and Dynamics. Mechanics of Materials was optional, I chose numerical methods. I thought dynamics should be replaced by discrete math which I took on my own. Our CompEs replaced those classes for extra theoretical math classes on computing.
