We were looking forward to seeing the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve since only 4% remain in North America - the other 96% of the Tallgrass prairie has been developed or plowed. We knew the trails were open 24 hr / 7 days a week and the visitor center wouldn't open until 8:30am. Due to our schedule, the only time we could visit was 7:30am.
