I've gotten them pretty frequently from there, so I would suggest maybe giving him a visit. Additionally, since the Jade Oni drops both of the duels you want, you can also kill two birds with one stone.

Bosses that drop mounts that aren't key bosses are those from one instance gauntlets like krokopatra and rattlebones exalted. These ones also have a pretty high drop rate. In addition some normal gauntlets drop mounts like the Sinbad and playwright instances. There are also mounts that drop pretty often from the bosses during the lost pages event.
