That isn't the end of the world for me, I just use mover tuner to move files that are older than 30 days to the array so I avoid HDD spin ups.I then assigned the new cache drive, formatted it and copied the data back in. Ironically, I've had bad luck replacing one drive when the mirror fails in my cache - again probably due to my cheap drives! Twice not, the second drive has failed as soon as I replace the 1st - therefor losing all the data on the cache. Thankfully, I took a backup of the cache first, but both times it was a pain to restore.
